DNS Zone Editor

What is the Zone Editor in cPanel?
The Zone Editor lets you manage DNS records for your domain. DNS records control how your domain works — like where your website loads from and where emails go.

Common DNS Record Types:
- A Record: Points your domain to an IP address (e.g., your website).
- CNAME Record: Points a subdomain to another domain name (e.g., www to your main domain).
- MX Record: Controls where your email is delivered.
- TXT Record: Used for settings like domain verification or SPF (anti-spam).

How to Use the Zone Editor:
1. Log in to cPanel.
2. Go to the "Zone Editor" under the Domains section.
3. Find your domain in the list and click "Manage".
4. To add a new record:
- Click "Add Record".
- Choose the type (A, CNAME, MX, TXT).
- Fill in the required fields.
- Click "Save Record".

5. To edit or delete a record:
- Find the record in the list.
- Click "Edit" or "Delete" on the right.
- Save your changes.

Example Use Cases:
- Add an A Record to point your domain to a new server IP.
- Add a CNAME Record for [www.yourdomain.com](http://www.yourdomain.com) to point to yourdomain.com.
- Update MX Records to use a different email provider.
- Add a TXT Record to verify your domain with Google Workspace or Microsoft 365.
